SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain and run an organized, technically structured, and physiologically sound training program for assigned crews.
· Support and promote all SRA policies, procedures and activities.
· Communicate club policy changes and general information to assigned crew.
· Determine boat assignments based on rower’s skill level and progression.
· Motivate rowers in a positive environment and maintain discipline with the team.
· Promote teamwork.
· Provide constructive feedback to rowers during practice.
· Participate in end-of-season novice regatta by organizing racing lineups and attending the regatta in an official coaching capacity.
· Notify Boat House Manager if boat damage occurs.
· Champion safety procedures and ensure procedures are followed.
· Assist summer coaching interns by providing constructive feedback, sharing training plan and philosophy, including intern in decision-making processes and helping intern improve his/her knowledge of rowing and training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· 3+ months experience coaching beginning rowing OR At least one full summer session of volunteer coaching for SRA or equivalent program OR collegiate rowing experience.
· Must be 18 years+ and have graduated from the SRA junior rowing program at start of employment.
· Desire to learn and improve coaching ability.
· Ability to drive a coaching launch.
· Ability to work with other coaches and a willingness to modify plans when needed.
· Oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to teach basic rowing skills.
· Ability to create a sound physiological training program.
· Must be CPR/1st Aid Certified.
· Familiarity of rigging fundamentals.
· Ability to work with other coaches- must have flexibility, patience and be able to communicate openly with co-workers and Director.
· Level 1 Coaching Certified desired (or equivalent experience).
