Help Needed for SRA Scrimmage

March 18, 2005. This year, Sammamish Rowing Association will be hosting a Scrimmage Regatta on April 17th. Oakland Strokes and Green Lake Crew Juniors have been invited to come to Lake Sammamish and race our Junior Program. We will be hosting approx. 300 Junior Rowers participating in 5 hours of racing.

In order to have a successful Scrimmage Regatta, we need the help of the entire club. We will need 100 volunteers to throughout the day. Volunteer shifts will be run from 6am – 11am and 10am – 3pm (times will vary depending on volunteer assignments.) Below is a list of volunteer opportunities that are available. We would like to ask everyone to please save the date Sunday, April 17th and sign up to volunteer by emailing scrimmage by Thursday, March 31st. If you have a volunteer shift preference and assignment, please feel free to include this in your email.

List of Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Food (Potluck, food tent, etc.)
  • Safety
  • First Aid
  • Launch Drivers
  • Results Coordinators
  • Security (Land and Water)
  • Parking
  • Dock Masters
  • Venue Set Up/Clean Up
  • Course Set Up/Clean Up
  • Lodging: Patrice Kelly (Master’s Rower 9am class and Junior Parent) has graciously volunteered to be the Lodging Coordinator. Please contact her at housing@srarowing.com if you would like to host roweres. She will need to know how many rowers you are willing to host, and whether or not you have pets. We would like to avoid any problems with pet allergies.
