Anyone Can Row
No experience necessary. We have both male and female athletes from schools across the Eastside, as far north as Bothell and as far south as Renton, with ages ranging between 13 and 18. We row out of the north end of Lake Sammamish, near Marymoor Park. Sammamish offers Learn to Row classes throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.

If you are an athlete who is still looking for your sport to excel in, give rowing a try. If you're in another sport, keep playing it. Don't leave the sport you love. Instead, add rowing as one of your sports. At Sammamish we respect an athlete's commitment to other sports.

Benefits of Rowing
The benefits of rowing for young women and men are far-reaching. At the center of the rowing experience is, of course, rowing. Rowing is a low-impact sport that is almost unparalleled in the number of muscles that it hones, in the level of strength and endurance that is reached. And all of SRA's training takes place on beautiful Lake Sammamish, with energetic teenagers from nearby towns. Rowers learn to be a part of a team, not only to row in perfect synchronicity, but to rig and de-rig the boats, to load and unload regatta trailers, to be helpful and responsible.

Women's rowing is one of the only NCAA sports where college demand exceeds the supply of experienced high school rowers. Athletes with rowing experience carry a premium in the recruiting process. With the skills taught at SRA, our rowers have attracted the attention of many of the top colleges and universities. Our athletes have gone on to row at UW, WSU, Harvard, Cornell, Yale, Notre Dame, Duke, University of Miami, Gonzaga, Berkeley, Colgate, Boston University and North Park. The list keeps growing. There's an even longer list of colleges who want our athletes. In addition to these programs, we have visits from schools such as Tennessee, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, Minnesota, Columbia, Northeastern, SMU, Penn, West Virginia, Texas and more. Our athletes get visibility.

Sammamish has established itself as one of the best programs in the nation, with our athletes making their mark regionally, nationally, and internationally. We're a proud, accomplished team. We're also regarded as one of the nicest teams around, a testament to our balanced approach toward competition. We have fun while being successful.
